Lyme Disease

Chronic auto-immune diseases such as Lyme Disease are on the rise and are particularly difficult to treat for both Eastern and Western Medical Practitioners. Fortunately, or unfortunately, Robert Underwood, one of our Acupuncturists, has successfully treated this sickness using Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs. We are in the process of solidifying our protocols to treat this and other debilitating auto-immune disorders.

An auto-immune disorder, whether it is tick-borne or not, is an instance where the body’s immune system cannot determine the exact enemy so it becomes confused and eventually begins to attack the patients own body. This can manifest as a myriad of symptoms, but a few of the most common are:

  • fatigue
  • muscle aches
  • Joint pain
  • brain fog
  • lack of appetite
  • heavy limbs
  • depression
  • loose stools or constipation
  • headaches
  • loss of memory

Traditional Chinese Medical practitioners didn’t have the sophisticated scientific equipment that we have today, nor could they determine different strains of parasite within the body. However, they did have a name for the diseases that encompassed the symptoms above and they also had a rigorous herbal treatment protocol. At Good Life Acupuncture Longmont we have taken their herbal protocols and combined them with the latest Western Medical research to create a very robust and effective approach to these seemingly intractable maladies.

If you are experiencing one or more of the symptoms above you may have a pathogen that has invaded and is replicating inside your body. You may have an immune system that has become overwhelmed during the protracted fight and may be confused or exhausted. We can help by boosting your immune system, using herbs and modern technology to attack, and finally help you rid yourself of this invader. Please contact our office to set up an initial appointment so we can review your medical history and determine if Acupuncture seems like a viable treatment strategy for you.
